Text analytics is a powerful tool in understanding the behavior of customers,
particular in public forums such as social media. The lecture will explore a variety
of common and emerging techniques of organizing, summarizing, and analyzing
unstructured text, from simple word counts and entity extraction to more
complex approaches to modeling bias and influence. While the primary focus
will be on text analytics concepts and use cases, it will also introduce a number
of open source software libraries used in real-world text analytics applications.
