Texas Energy Expo

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) College of Engineering would like to invite your company to make history with us as we host the first ever Texas Energy Expo on Tuesday March 5th, 2013.

Why You Should Attend

This career fair will give you a convenient opportunity to meet UTSA students who are interested in contributing their talents and education to the oil and gas industry. Participants of the Texas Energy Expo will have the opportunity to meet 2,500 intelligent, innovative, and diverse engineering students, 5,000 analytical and sharp science students, and 5,000 globally aware and professional business students. UTSA produces some of the most self-motivated students available in Texas, many of whom work full-time, take on internships, and conduct research while earning their degrees.

The Experience

The Expo will be a fast-paced half day, allowing you to meet numerous students in an efficient format with opportunities for more in-depth engagement with the students you’d like to learn more about. You will have your own booth(s) that can be extensively customized to display information about your company, its work, job opportunities, and other high-lights. At the conclusion of the career fair your recruiters will have the opportunity to interact more with our students by participating in a networking lunch. Platinum and gold sponsor companies will receive additional opportunities, such as information sessions and career prep week event sponsorship.

Invest in Talent

All proceeds from the Expo that are not used to cover costs will go towards supporting student organizations, multi-disciplinary senior capstone projects, and student attendance at major national STEM and business conferences.

The EXPO

The Texas Energy Expo is the next up and coming tradition here at UTSA. This career fair is the very first student led career fair here at UTSA, and it is a great opportunity for students to attend and get their name out there and meet with employers. This expo is bringing in companies that operate mainly at Eagle Ford Shale, which is an up and coming oil and gas hotspot in the Texas area. It’s great to get involved with these companies and network with them at an event like this. Some of the companies will be hosting info sessions during the day, and you will even have the opportunity to interview with some of the companies at the career fair. The dress for this event is business professional and resumes are also needed.

The Tradition

This is a changing time here at UTSA, so there will be some traditions that need to be started. The reason that this Career fair is going to be a tradition is because of the fact that it will be giving back to school. Another aspect of this event is starting a scholarship opportunity in the COS, COE, and COB. With  the funds raised by the companies attending, we will be giving back to the colleges. These scholarships are going to be given to organizations going to events and students. We need the help of the students because the more students that attend this career fair, the more companies talk about it and then the next year bigger and larger companies will attend and more scholarship opportunities will appear here at the school. We challenge you to make companies want to come back to this school.

The Luncheon

We are having a unique opportunity at this career fair. After the career fair has ended we will be have a luncheon hosted where it will give companies another opportunity to network with the students in a more relaxed setting. Luncheons are the best opportunity to get to know more about companies than you would at the recruiting tables, and this luncheon is exclusive to upperclassmen and it’s a first come first serve basis for sign up. This is great to get more exposure with companies and will be especially great for graduating seniors looking for positions in companies.
